Uncovering the true story of

Georgia’s coast.

HOW THEY WERE STUCK

One Hundred Miles exists to help protect and preserve Georgia’s coast. But, as they were preparing to celebrate their 10th anniversary, they remained anonymous to most Georgians. Then a grant came through from the Woodruff Foundation, offering them a perfect chance to further their mission, but they weren’t sure how or where to begin.

WHAT TAILFIN DID

We developed a strategic storytelling approach, tapping into the historical, cultural, and ecological stories unique to this region, and tied them together in a campaign we called ‘Our Georgia Coast’.

WE LET THE COAST DO THE TALKING.

This region is incredibly diverse — from its people to its habitats. ‘Our Georgia Coast’ was a concept that allowed us to tap local voices for docu-style stories woven around key topics, connecting with the audience emotionally, driving awareness, and inviting them to become part of the fight to protect and preserve our coast.

Everything flows from here.

Many of Georgia’s watersheds bring water down to the coast, but we discovered there’s much more that flows from this coast to the rest of the world. We adopted the phrase “...flows from here...” to explain the impact and importance this region has on a broader level, thanks to its deep-rooted culture, diverse ecosystems, unique wildlife, and rare geography.

Abby Sterling

Abby is the Director of Manomet's Georgia Bight Shorebird Conservation Initiative, working with partners along the Georgia and South Carolina coast.
Since launch, our campaign has driven almost 40 million impressions and 200,000 landing page visits.

One Hundred Miles’ advocate network increased by 29% as a result of the campaign.

OHM now has a content library most brands would dream of — including full-length anthem documentaries, teaser videos, profile videos, and additional still photography of the people and places we featured.

“Tailfin really got to know us, and they helped us find and amplify our story through the voices of people that are a part of the region we serve. It was always a total team effort – the way they work, it just feels like they really are a part of our team.”
