About this role:
The Senior Strategist role at Tailfin is perfect for a curious, experienced, “roll up your sleeves” strategist who is comfortable pushing work and clients every day. Strategists at Tailfin blend logic and reasoning with creative thinking to help get strategies, projects, and people UNSTUCK. This role suits a multi-faceted strategist with experience across brand strategy, content strategy, and light research.

Job Functions & Requirements:
Strategy Development
Plays an essential role at the agency developing strategies for a variety of clients in a range of fields.
- Lead all strategy projects internally and with clients
- Develop comprehensive brand strategies, including but not limited to:
- Customer profiles
- Customer journeys
- Brand positioning / value proposition
- Brand anthems / manifestos
- Develop insight-driven creative strategies and creative briefs, including but not limited to:
- Business and consumer problem identification
- Key audience or cultural insights
- Unique campaign/creative direction
- Requirements/creative considerations
- Partner with Account and Creative teams to ensure agency alignment on recommended strategies
- Recommend research approaches to generate learnings and insights that clients need, leveraging the right research tools and formats
- Conduct secondary research (desk research or using existing client information) to inform strategies and strategic POVs
- Help conduct primary research, for example:
- Develop focus group or interview discussion guides, lead focus groups and interviews, and develop outputs consisting of key themes/takeaways and insights
- Develop survey questions, build and distribute surveys to target audience in the research platform (e.g. SurveyMonkey), analyze results, and develop outputs consisting of key themes/takeaways and insights
- Comfortable working with existing strategic frameworks but willing to evolve as agency and client needs require
Agency Marketing & Thought Leadership
Helps lead Tailfin marketing efforts, including developing and facilitating thought leadership pieces and organic/paid agency marketing efforts.
- Lead Tailfin’s organic content strategy, including monthly blogs and occasional social content
- Partner with Account team to develop creative assets
Business Development
Plays an essential role in assisting with new business efforts, including RFP responses and client introductions.
- Help develop new business introduction decks
- Lead or support RFP responses, including developing relevant materials and ensuring requirements are being met
- Actively participate in new business meetings as needed
- Partner with Creative and Account teams on larger RFP responses, as needed
Hybrid Office
We believe there are real benefits that come both with in-person collaboration and heads-down, focused remote work. At Tailfin, we come into the office 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are more flexible.
